A Caring Doctor Who is There for Us When the Going Gets Tough

Dr. John G. Barnes has been there for my husband and me when we need him. It is challenging for anyone to be faced with any diagnosis of cancer and that is the path we have been on for too long; 2 plus years. Dr. Barnes guided us to find compassionate and competent medical care at a cancer center not too far from home after the first scheduled biopsy was cancelled due a drop in my husband’s blood pressure and an unfortunate lack of awareness of his cardiac history; it being overlooked/unknown although reported repeatedly.
Being none medical my husband was satisfied with waiting focusing on Dr. Barnes’s reassuring word “prostate cancer is something you die with NOT from.” As my husbands PSA elevated and his MRI changed he needed a plan to prevent metastases. As a result of Dr. Barnes guidance my husband is in the process of being scheduled for a biopsy of the prostate at the cancer center not to far from home. We are comforted in the knowledge that Dr. Barnes will be there for us giving us support and with professional guidance during the path ahead.
