My husband’s last year of life was a difficult one. As a physician he knew what was happening but tried his best to keep going and surmount the odds. It wasn’t cancer, it was crippling rheumatoid and osteoarthritis and a residual of poliomyelitis that resulted in joint replacements, venous occlusion, falls, subdurals etc. At one point he was unable to come to the office to see Dr Edward Deboard. Dr. Deboard came to the house doing old- fashioned house calls with the utmost compassion and competence. My husband died shortly after that of a hemorrhagic stroke at almost 91 years of age. We both shed tears. Ultimately we all die and my husband’s time had come, a lifecwell lived, but too soon for me. Thank you Dr. Deboard for being there for both of us.
