A Doctor Like No Other

In the fall of 2023, I became very ill from a number of different problems. I had severe back pain due to decay in my lower facet joints in the lumbar spine. I had a body-wide, but nasal centered inflammation, perhaps an allergenic reaction to clouds of cement dust swirling around my home for months on end. And, as a result of both problems, my sleep had deteriorated to a few hours per night. Medicines I had already been prescribed did not seem to reduce the symptoms. One night in November I ended up in the Emergency Room due to pain and desperation.

Later that month I was scheduled with Dr Nestor, of MDVIP, for a routine appointment. I had been a patient less than a year by that time. Even though there were patients waiting on the schedule to see the doctor after my turn, Dr Nestor extended the length of the appointment to address not only the routine matters, but also the other symptoms I was struggling with. I received care for all my issues, including self-help advice that went far beyond what I could have expected from the typical doctor's clinic. My wife was impressed with the amount of attention I received and noted that the doctor helped me in every possible way he could.
I did recover after six-eight weeks. I will always be grateful for the extra help I got when I really needed it, despite the fact that the clinic was unaware of the shape I was in prior to showing up that day. Needless-to-say, if I had still been a patient in the care of doctors from the past, I might still be competing for access to the care I needed. Today, as a member of MDVIP, I am confident that I'll get the care I need, when I need it.
