One evening around 10 p.m. I felt faint and I was very concerned. As I contemplated what to do, serendipitously my cell phone rang displaying Dr. Goldin’s name. Dr. Goldin immediately asked, “How are you feeling?” To which I replied, “Funny you should ask, I feel like I might pass out.” Dr. Goldin then went on to explain why he called, saying he was reviewing my medical records and noticed that my cardiologist had recently prescribed a new medication. Dr. Goldin considered the dosage to be too strong, and he stated it was likely the reason for my light-headness. Dr. Goldin then picked up the ball, reduced the dosage in coordination with my cardiologist, and since then I have felt fine.

While I will always marvel at the coincidence of Dr. Goldin calling at the very moment I was ill, I am more impressed by the fact Dr. Goldin was reviewing my records in the evening and had the presence of mind to call me immediately. In addition, it is reassuring to know I could have called Dr.Goldin and he would have been there for me. It is moments like this that demonstrate not only the monetary value of the concierge service but also how a doctor/patient relationship should work.
