in 2014 my elderly neighbor was not only ill, but in a terrible predicament. Her second husband, whom she had been married to for 25 years, had been diagnosed with Alzheimer recently. Dr. Monaco, had helped her to get him admitted to a really nice Long Term Care Facility nearby. Unfortunately, due to this being a second marriage, his children didn't agree with this. So, they removed him. After removing him they took him to an attorney and encouraged him to file for divorce. Needless to say this 90 year old woman was beside herself. She was so upset because she didn't know where he was or how he was doing. So she stopped eating, and became very weak. I knew her daughter lived in Chicago and wasn't close by so I offered to help her. I ran divorce papers to her Attorney, got her food, went to the bank for her, and took out her trash, but with the shock and all her health and stamina continue to fail. One day I came to her house and she was on the phone with Dr. Monaco, I heard this very caring, compassionate voice, talking to her telling how he would help her to recover physically. She then introduced me to Dr. Monaco. He asked me to run to the store to and get her some Pedialyte, make sure she drank water too, and asked if I could pick up more food and a prescription for her. He told me he had talked to her daughter and she would be on here in Kansas City by the weekend. I got right to it and I got her supplies, and visited her each day that week. By the weekend she was physically and emotionally stronger. My neighbor was thrilled to see her daughter arrive. It was a double blessing. My neighbor got strong enough to deal with her dilemma and I found the most thoughtful and caring Doctor. Later that year, I called his office about becoming a patient myself, and was fortunate that Dr. Monaco had an opening for me!
