In March 2018, I had just returned from a Mexican vacation and was suffering from an upper respiratory condition that had me feeling lousy! After a few days, with no relief & a new fever that was sporadic-I called Dr Cekada and her Capable aide, Chantal- and went in for a visit.
After Dr Cekada asked all the questions related to my health, and after evaluating my symptoms, Dr Cekada calmly stated that she was going to send me to get some blood work done, and was going to proactively put me on an anti fungal medicine. Without alarming me, she was going to determine if I might possibly have Valley Fever, which the blood test would reveal. Sure enough, her hunch paid off- and she was right; the lab test came back positive for Valley fever! People die from that!! But, calmly, Dr Cekada explained how the illness manifests in many different ways, but we had got on it early, and were medicating it appropriately, and most likely I would be just fine. Slowly, surely, my strength & health returned just as she said. She advised me to slowly & incrementally return to my regular activities. She actively followed up with me, checking in with me to see how I was feeling & doing. I made a full recovery without incident. I am very grateful for Dr Cekada’s medical insights, her ability to be up to date with illnesses & medical treatments, and her ability to communicate effectively. It is very re-assuring to have Dr Cekada in my corner, helping me manage my health.
Thank you !!
