We are both 83 years old, in good health considering our age. Dr. Sheperle sees us together now every 3 months, so we can snitch on each other. He listens and pushes back with practical reasons, options and advise. A year ago I fell and had a type 3 Dens fracture that required a hard collar without surgery, and was taking the whole thing lightly. He kindly and firmly informed me I had a Superman fracture like Chris Reeves, what could have been the other results and to listen to the neurosurgeon, etc! But his explanation was spot on. Also we have his cell number, which I used this past week due to our being rear ended while driving on highway. It was reassuring to have his thoughts on this situation. I have never liked going to see a doctor in my entire life especially being lectured or feeling that I was being talked down to, until we started seeing him about 10 years ago. He is definitely proactive. We can laugh, feel like he really cares about us and we feel like family. We love him!
