Last year I broke my leg and luckily, I did not require surgery . My 9 week stint on crutches was coming to an end and I was so pleased to be able to start walking. However , when I resumed walking with enthusiasm, I developed moderate to severe swelling and pain of my foot and calf below the fractured Tibia. Dr O'Brien arranged a visit and provided important reassurance that this was not a post fracture deep venous vein thrombosis and came up with a plan to address the swelling and pain. The stressful feelings after the fracture and the 9 weeks on crutches had exhausted my "Be Positive approach." The kindness and reassuring manner of Dr O'Brien , helped me regain perspective and patience to continue my rehabilitation.
