In 2009, I was hospitalized with a post-op intestinal infection following gall bladder surgery. I was rushed to the ER via ambulance when I passed out at home. My MDVIP doctor came each morning while I was in Recovery and Intensive Care. He came to read my X-rays but also came to see me nearly every day. In a hospital where everyone around you is a stranger, that familiar face and candid conversation made a huge difference; When I was well enough to have my first Diet Coke, my doctor greeted me bedside with two cans as we shared a carbonated celebration.

(Regarding the 5 star rating below, I would give mydoctor5 stars and MDVIPI 4 stars but that option isn't given.)
