My Philosophy and Approach to Wellness...

I am a female primary care physician with over 30 years of experience in internal medicine. I also have the privilege of providing personalized health and wellness care in a model. My office is in Center City, Philadelphia, and my patients come from the southeastern Pennsylvania region; New Jersey, as far away as Trenton and Cape May; Delaware, including Rehoboth; and even Maryland. I am on staff at both Pennsylvania Hospital and Thomas Jefferson University Hospital and continue to teach residents and students as part of my commitment to educating the next generation of primary care physicians.

My goal as an internist is to partner with my patients so they can become better advocates for their healthcare needs and participate more in the medical decisions that can help them live healthier and happier lives. I manage both acute and chronic diseases and assist with end-of-life decisions. Because of my smaller practice size, I have time to closely listen to my patients and provide proactive medical recommendations and emotional support. My MDVIP-affiliated practice also offers services, including comprehensive, advanced health screenings and diagnostic tests, that go far beyond those found in concierge medicine practices. My greatest asset is my ability to advocate for my patients' needs, and I am available for all of their questions and concerns. As a private doctor, I coordinate care through our complex healthcare system, and in so doing, I am able to help improve the overall wellness of my patients and limit unnecessary services. I have an honest and direct approach to communication and am sensitive to the different needs and goals of individuals.

My MDVIP-affiliated internal medicine practice has earned the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) Patient-Centered Medical Home (PCMH) Level III Certification and has repeatedly achieved above 95% nationwide for quality. This recognition acknowledges an effective way of organizing primary care that emphasizes care coordination and communication in order to transform primary care into "what patients want it to be."

Telemedicine Option: I am also using telemedicine visits to stay connected with my patients when they are unable to see me in the office. It is easy to do, and we have maintained our momentum with preventive health goals and chronic care during difficult times.

Testimonials from patients of Dr. Cohn

from Cynthia in PA March 17, 2024 for Lillian E. Cohn, MD, FACP

I've been a patient of Dr. Lillian Cohn's for approximately 40 years even before she was with MDVIP. Over that time there have been multiple moments where she helped me through life's ups and downs from getting married to family illnesses and losses and many more. However, the one that made a huge difference to me is when my husband was dying in the hospital. Although I knew his final wishes,… See more

Dr. Cohn I appreciate your consistent care and interaction. You always make me feel that my health is important and that I am important. Thank You

from Ann in PA March 15, 2024 for Lillian E. Cohn, MD, FACP

On March 10, 2020, I woke with an odd sort of tickle in my lungs and thought… Covid. My work is public facing, and I was concerned about how to proceed. I called Dr. Cohn. In short order, she examined me, conducted an EKG, noted some discrepancies from earlier readings, consulted her partner and personally escorted me to Pennsylvania Hospital, where I was admitted after ER scans revealed blood… See more

from Kenneth in PA March 10, 2024 for Lillian E. Cohn, MD, FACP

My MDVIP Doctor is Lillian Cohn in Philadelphia. I had a visit last week to review some blood results and some followup on a couple of medical issues. I left with the same feeling I always do--this doctor cares. She understands my general aversion to acknolwledging medical issues and maybe my own mortality as a form of weakness. She cares but on follow-up she doesn't let me get away… See more

from Clara in PA March 9, 2024 for Lillian E. Cohn, MD, FACP

My name is Clara (Claire) Ruscica. I have been a patient of Dr. Cohn for a very long time, and in all these years not once has she disappointed me or made me question her opinion. In addition, and a very important point, is that I think Dr. Cohn is very intelligent; she is also very caring and will research anything that she is not 100% sure of. I am going to celebrate my 88th birthday in… See more

from Charlotte in PA February 21, 2024 for Lillian E. Cohn, MD, FACP

I am happy to be a patient of Lillian Cohn MD. She has helped me integrate into the medical community having moved here from another MDVIP physician in Boston in June 2021. And yes she rescued me from a trip to the ER because she has a cooler head than I. And she even found me a local friend among her patient pool. I feel very lucky to have her.

from C in PA February 12, 2024 for Lillian E. Cohn, MD, FACP

Dr. Cohn is available 24/7, not only to provide expert care, but also to actually listen to you. She is an incredible diagnostician and never settle for less than getting her patient to a 100% level of what each can achieve. I know this first-hand. Dr. Cohn and I are a team and my health has improved with age rather than declined because of her care and advice. Dr. Cohn has a preventive… See more

Hello my name is Pamela Minyard and I'm long overdue in sharing my thoughts regarding Dr. Lilian Cohn, my doctor. Dr. Cohn has been my internist for more than thirty years. I first met Dr. Cohn while she was during medical rounds at Pennsylvania Hospital where I was employed as a critical care nurse. Her ability to gain respect from colleagues and patients were notable. I always admired her… See more
