We have been with Dr. Michael Book for many years before MDVIP came along. His practice was so full that MDVIP made his practice more manageable for him. I know he can no longer take new patients and has a waiting list. We could not be happier with his office, his care, his personality. We can always reach him/see him when we wish, even while traveling.

Testimonials from patients of Dr. Book
DR Michael Book has been my physician since the early eighties first on Kiawah Island. Now he is still my primary physician as I live at Bishop Gadsden retirement community. I am 92 years old and know I can be active in mind and spirit because of him.
Michael Book is always available, knowledgeable and effective. That’s why we’ve been his patients for 20 years!
Upon moving to SC, we were most concerned about how we were going to make sure we were going know what medical services to use. We had had wonderful healthcare services in the Northeast. We looked into the health care systems in the Charleston area, and we inquired of friends about the doctors they now used and liked. Over and over, we heard just amazing praises about Dr. Michael Book.… See more
I am 77yrs old and had never really been to a doctor before, except when I had my babies. I grew up in a home where food was medicine and sauerkraut was the treatment from sore throats to stomach aches. Not all bad but....... Then enter Dr Book and my first real check ups and blood work. all kind of scary to me. Well, he is the kindest, most aware , involved Dr ..who spends real time getting… See more

Dr. Michael Book. For two and a half years, he became not only a healer but a source of solace for me as I walked through the arduous journey of my husband's stage 4 cancer.
It all began with a somber diagnosis that shook the foundation of our lives. My husband, Denis, faced the battle of his life, and Dr. Book emerged as a guiding light during these dark times. His compassion was… See more
One morning very early my husband woke me up saying he thought he was having a heart attack and asked me to drive him to the hospital. I wanted to call 911 but he did not. I called Dr Michael Book at 6 45 in the morning and he talked to my husband and said do not let her drive you call 911. He also called MUSC and told them we were on our way which made everything so much easier for us when we… See more
Had an issue that was not resolved elsewhere. I called my PCP, Dr. Michael Book and he managed to get me an appointment with specialist very quickly. The health issue is being resolved. Good follow up from his office as well.
Dr Michael Book has taken care of my husband and me for over a decade. While there are many accolades I could expound on, Dr Book’s attribute that best defines him is that he is never satisfied.. Whether it is lowering my husband’s cholesterol, detecting reasons behind my osteoporosis or constantly monitoring the opportunities for new drugs, Dr Book is proactive. He looks at all alternatives… See more
